Some People 02:58
Some people just think about the power and the glory Don’t care what they do just make history Trying to make some money Gotta pay the rent We’re fixing holes in this old tent Travel over water Travel over sea Don’t care where we’re going, we’re just living to be free yeah Some people telling me that I haven’t got a date Don’t care what she look like just as long as she ain’t late Trying to find a partner One that ain’t too proud Don’t care what they’re playing just as long as it’s loud Dancing to the music Dancing to the beat Don’t know what we’re doing, we’re just dancing to be free yeah Some people go around in a world of their own Dancing with nobody they’re just dancing all alone Trying to be noticed Trying to be free Trying to get some money just to spend it in the E.M.I. Some people go around in the world painted white Spreadin’ round the news just like a satellite People don’t listen People don’t care They can harden their hearts but it’s still everywhere Listen to the music Listen to the beat To which tune are you dancing Who is guiding your feet? Yeah Take it Joseph They say peace at any price but is it really that fair? They’re prepared to start a war to get peace over there As long as they’re fighting there’ll never be an end Just a war to end all wars till another one begins Why can’t we die in peace no more We always gotta die in someone else’s war

You told me that you’d be coming right back in a year I’m still here waiting. I’m waiting but still you’re not here Please believe me when I say Never wanted you to go away But I think that it’s gonna be alright Think that it’s gonna be fine Think that you’re gonna be always on my mind On my mind Suitcase in hand you were telling me you couldn’t stay You wouldn’t listen to what I was trying to say Please believe me when I say Never wanted you to go away But I think that it’s gonna be alright Think that it’s gonna be fine Think that you’re gonna be always on my mind On my mind When you left me you never told me where you were going You just walked out that door you didn’t care that it was snowing Years have gone by and I’m here by myself all alone Wishing and hoping and waiting for you to come home Please believe me when I say I never wanted you to go away But I think that it’s gonna be alright I think that it’s gonna be fine Think that you’re gonna be always on my mind I think that it’s gonna be alright I think that it’s gonna be fine Think that you’re gonna be always on my mind On my mind yeah Yes it’s gonna be alright Yes it’s gonna be alright Yeah

I knocked on your window, but you wouldn't come out I waited outside, but you wouldn't come out I stood on your steps and waited around Till the snow froze my feet to the ground I’m knocking on your window but you won't come out I called and I cried but you wouldn't come out I swear I almost died but you still didn't come out I'm standing outside in the drizzling rain And the wind is a-wailing again and again I'm calling and crying but you won't come out You're in there with your big warm fire And I'm here outside freezing Why don’t you open your door and let me in Come on, do you need a reason I tried to call you, but you won't answer your phone I'm down to my last phonecard but I’m still here alone I’m waiting for you, are you waiting for me I've been here for days but you still can't see I'm trying to call you, please answer your phone You’re in there with your big warm fire And I'm here outside freezing Why don't you open your door and let me in Come on, do you need a reason I knocked on your window but you wouldn't come out I waited outside, but you wouldn't come out I stood on your steps and waited around Till the snow froze my feet to the ground I'm knocking on your window but you won't come out I'm knocking on your window but you won’t come out I'm knocking on your window but you won’t come out

Sittin’ in me dresser, me hair is still a mess and there’s a knock upon the door It’s five minutes till show time I really gotta go time but I can’t take any more I feel like getting out of me head Sometimes it’s hard to get out of bed But when the band starts rockin’ I gotta start singin’ along The road is getting longer but the fans are growing stronger I never read the writing on the wall Every day a new town greets me. Every night the people meet me On stage I’m gonna have me a ball There’s groupies, roadies and sycophantic toadies all hangin’ round me dressing room door It don’t matter how many albums I do the record company always calls for one more I’m settling down with wife number free It’s been ages since I last had V.D. But the thing that really thrills me when I’m on stage rocking for you and you and you and you yeah The road is getting longer but the fans are growing stronger I never read the writing on the wall Every day a new town greets me. Every night the people meet me On stage I’m gonna have me a ball When every town’s the same and every sky turns grey I’ll still get on the road again and play And play Take it away lads Yeah sounds nice The airports, the limos, the hotels and the venues all start to feel the same Non stop touring it can get a bit boring This must be a young man’s game I don’t wanna throw a T.V. I’d rather have a nice cup of tea But when the spotlight hits me I feel like I’m the king of the world The road is getting longer but the fans are growing stronger We never read the writing on the wall Every day a new town greets me. Every night the people meet me On stage we’re gonna have us a ball The road is getting longer but the fans are growing stronger We never read the writing on the wall Every day a new town greets me. Every night the people meet me On stage we’re gonna have us a ball You know what I mean now You know what I mean now You know what I mean now

On a cold winters night I did journey alone on a train that was travelling nowhere When to my great surprise the door burst open wide Twas a maiden with tears in her eyes Her suitcase beside her we talked for a while Through the pain in her eyes was no hint of a smile And she turned to me there in the gathering gloom said we all now had something to pay Twas a knock at the door and a figure came through with a hat that was black and a cape on He’d a cane like a snake and the temperature fell as he told us of where he had been He laughed as he spoke, he’d a mouth like a cave and I felt like he’d crawled up from out of the grave The train hit a tunnel the lights they did fade as we sped through the night going nowhere I awoke with a start at the breaking of dawn when the first rays of sun pierced my eyelids I was battered and sore I was cold and confused with a deepening sense of unease There was nobody with me I saw with a start And the pain it just hit me right there in my heart Just a battered old suitcase that lay on the floor and the echoing sound of his laughter

Change your mind Please put down that suitcase Change your mind Please don’t touch that door Change your mind You’re not gonna need that ticket Change your mind I don’t know what you’re leaving for Don’t want to see you cry Don’t wanna walk the floor Don’t wanna say goodbye I just can’t take this pain no more Change your mind Take those things out of that suitcase Change your mind Please don’t touch that door Change your mind Put those keys back on that table Change your mind I don’t know what you’re leaving for Don’t want to see you cry Don’t wanna walk the floor Don’t wanna say goodbye I just can’t take this pain no more No, no, no, no, no, no, no Change your mind Please, please, please put down that suitcase Change your mind I’m begging you please don’t touch that door Change your mind What ever you do please don’t ever leave me Change your mind I don’t know what you’re leaving for

I left my home on the 3rd of July The war was over in the blink of an eye I was blinded, they left me crying in the rain You talk of love and then you blow me to pieces You try to win me with your crazy speeches But I know that I’m worth more than another gun When I asked for love you said you didn’t understand When I asked for peace you put a gun in my hand When I wanted truth you told me nothing at all Now I don’t have the strength to crawl Was in the mist of 1974 Didn’t have no money, I was terribly poor What do you know, you’re just another kind of person to me Somebody said you were too high to fall But when you toppled it took no time at all to replace you Now there’s another person dishing it out When I asked for love you said you didn’t understand When I asked for peace you put a gun in my hand When I wanted truth you told me nothing at all Now I don’t have the strength to crawl The strength to crawl I don’t have the strength to crawl The strength to crawl When I asked for love you said you didn’t understand When I asked for peace you put a gun in my hand When I wanted truth you told me nothing at all Now I don’t have the strength to crawl

Standing here today I am waiting at this station I have got no place to stay I have made no reservation I’m travelling light Got no place to sleep tonight I’m travelling light Got nothing to do or fight Travelling light Travelling light Many places around this world I’ve been Through many lands I roam Friendly faces few and far between There’s no place to call my home I’m standing here today I am waiting at the station Got no ticket for the train I have made no reservation I’m travelling light Got no place to sleep tonight Travelling light I’ve got nothing to do or fight Travelling light Travelling light I’m standing here today I am waiting at this station Got no suitcase in my hand I have made no reservation I’m travelling light Got no place to sleep tonight Travelling light Got nothing to do or fight Travelling light Travelling light Travelling light I’m travelling light

Searching 02:36
Searching Through the long forgotten places Will I find it I don’t know But there’s life if you can find it And I’m sure that you won’t mind if it’s so I’m searching Through the cold and windy places Will I find it I don’t know But there’s life if you can find it And I’m sure that you won’t mind if it’s so Sometimes you feel like grabbing it Other times you just don’t wanna know It’s like a miracle trying to hide A miracle trying to hide Searching Through the long forgotten places Will I find it I don’t know But there’s life if you can find it And I’m sure that you won’t mind if it’s so I’m searching Through the cold and windy places Will I find it I don’t know But there’s life if you can find it And I’m sure that you won’t mind if it’s so Sometimes you feel like grabbing it Other times you just don’t wanna know It’s like a miracle trying to hide A miracle trying to hide

Sucker Punch 04:43
Well I was up on stage one day I was doing a gig I was dressed up fine, real fine It was me the chicks was going to dig But then I picked up my guitar And I began to play I turned around, hit the microphone But the crowd had gone away It was a sucker punch. A sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Eat my lunch It was a sucker punch I was up at the radio station I was hoping nothing else would go wrong I was talkin’ ‘bout my latest record just about to sing my latest song The lady D.J. she smiled at me, she had teeth just like a shark The light went red, the air went dead and I was left there in the dark It was a sucker punch. Sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Eat my lunch It was a sucker punch Well I hope that this thing might be a dream I hope I wake up soon If you know what I mean It was a sucker punch. A sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Eat my lunch It was a sucker punch Well I was up on stage one day I was doing a show In the spotlight with my guitar I was pumped up and ready to go I stepped up to the microphone and all the girls began to scream I fell out of bed, I bumped my head The whole thing had been a dream It was a sucker punch. Sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Eat my lunch It was a sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Sucker punch It was a sucker punch. Eat my lunch It was a sucker punch

You and I go together just like a ball and a chain You and I go together just like a ball and a chain Just like a ball and a chain They say it’s a long way from May to December They say it’s a long way from here to the sun But that feels like nothing when I remember The long hours I’ve waited since you’ve been gone You and I go together just like a ball and a chain You and I go together just like a ball and a chain Just like a ball and a chain They tell me the darkest hour is always At a time that is right before the dawn But I say every hour’s getting darker and darker Every hour that you’ve been gone You and I go together just like a ball and a chain You and I go together just like a ball and a chain Just like a ball and a chain Just like a ball and a chain Just like a ball and a chain

Yes there’s far too many people Who are sinking in the mud And there’s far too many people Who are drowning in the flood Yes there’s far too many diamonds That are buried in the rough And there’s far too many people Who’ve just ‘bout had enough I just wanna reach them Nobody to teach them where to go What to do with their lives They can’t find the answer Truth is like a dancer standing there On the edge of sight Yes there’s far too many people On the wrong side of the road And there’s far too many people Who are burdened with the load Yes there’s far too many people Who are hiding in the night And there’s far too many people Who are running from the light What’s the price they’re paying What’s the game they’re playing Where to go Where to find the key Lost, they take the long way Heading down the wrong way They don’t know They ain’t got the eyes to see
